What is Anime Dubs Goal?
Anime Dubs was created around the concept of introducing and sharing Japanese Anime and specifically Japanese Music from Anime shows to those who live outside Japan.
What does Anime Dubs offer?
Anime Dubs offers visitors the ability to browse Anime, Anime Music, and Artists, providing information and insight about the Anime that you enjoy. In addition, visitors have the ability to sort by Anime Album, Music Genres and Music Labels. We have also opened up a brand spanking new Anime Forum to discuss and debate the latest Anime and Anime Music, among other topics of great importance.
Why should I signup at Anime Dubs?
While we try and offer as much as possible for our visitors, a few features do require you to register to fully enjoy. As a registered member you will have to ability to rate Anime and Anime Music in addition to creating a personal list of the Anime you own or are looking forward to watching, and the Anime Music you enjoy listening to. You can also interact with other members in our forum. Many more features are on the way :)
Why do I see strange []'s on the site?
If you see strange looking characters which look like squares, i.e. [], or other characters which aren't alphanumeric it is most likely because you do not have Japanese font support installed on the computer you are working on. If you would like to check and see if your computer supports Japanese fonts, try out our Japanese Font Test.
Why the name Anime Dubs?
This is a good question... As stated above, Anime Dubs was created around the concept of introducing and sharing Japanese Anime and specifically Japanese Music from Anime shows to those who live outside Japan. On the other hand, Dub localization, shortened to just 'Dubs' typically refers to the practice of altering a foreign language film or television series to adapt it for a "local" audience. Thus the combination of Anime (Japanese Animation) and Dubs (adapting for a local audience), sum up our interests nicely.
Can I link back to Anime Dubs?
Most definitely. We are happy you asked. Just in case you are interested we created a bunch of really cool images that you can copy onto your site to share Anime Dubs with your friends and visitors. Check out our selection of links and let us know what you think!
Is this site about Anime Subs or Anime Dubs?
The short answer is both. Many people have their unique opinion on subs vs. dubs, even ourselves, but we have realized that there are talented performers all around the world. At Anime Dubs we try our best to respect everyone's personal opinion, even if we may disagree. Since this site evolved in part to Anime Music, and not solely Anime (tho Anime is a large part of it), it's safe to say there is enough room for both.
However, as far as our Anime Music Database is concerned, we will be leaning towards the original music as opposed to any "local" changes to the music score. Anime Dubs is based on exposing those outside Japan to Japanese Music, Artists, and Artwork. In many epic anime series, one such example being Ergo Proxy, a band from Oxfordshire, England, called Radiohead, had their song titled "Paranoid Android" used as the opening music. This universal bridge if you will, is similar to the one we are determined to create with the site Anime Dubs.
